Nathaniel Bassey Releases New Live Worship Album ‘The Life Recording’
Nigerian gospel singer, trumpeter and worship leader Nathaniel Bassey has released a new album, The Life Recording, today, August 14, 2026, extending a catalogue that has made him one of the most prominent contemporary gospel artists from Africa.
Bassey announced the project directly through his official Instagram account ahead of its release, describing it as a live worship experience centred on praise, prayer and worship.
The album is now live across major streaming platforms. Spotify lists The Life Recording as a 2026 album released through Nathaniel Bassey / ONErpm, while tracks from the project are also appearing through his official YouTube distribution.
Among the songs already available are “The Potentate,” “Glory to God in the Highest,” “Agbanilagbatan” and “Resurrection & the Life.” Official YouTube metadata confirms the August 14 release date for those recordings.
The project follows a steady run of new music from Bassey and continues his emphasis on extended live worship rather than conventional pop-oriented gospel releases.
His audience has also grown well beyond recorded music. Bassey is closely associated with the Hallelujah Challenge, the online worship gathering that has developed into one of Nigeria’s most visible faith-based digital communities.
That makes The Life Recording particularly suited to his existing audience: the album is positioned less as a collection of standalone singles and more as a continuous worship experience.
Bassey’s official social campaign began building toward the release in the weeks leading up to August 14, repeatedly directing followers to prepare for what he described as a new season of worship.
