Ayra Starr Releases Third Album ‘Starrgirl’ With ZAYN, Wizkid and Rema
Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has released her third studio album, Starrgirl, opening another chapter in a career that has increasingly moved beyond Afrobeats into the wider global pop market.
Released on August 14, 2026, the 16-track project brings together artists from Nigeria, Britain, the United States, Latin America and Europe, with guest appearances from ZAYN, Wizkid, Rema, Leon Thomas, KWN, Danny Ocean and Theodora.
The album follows her 2024 sophomore project, The Year I Turned 21, and arrives after a run of singles and collaborations that helped maintain her international presence between albums.
Among the collaborations attracting early attention is “Heaven Baby” with ZAYN, bringing Starr together with the former One Direction member on one of the project's most internationally positioned records.
Wizkid and Rema also appear on the album, continuing Starr's collaborations with two of Nigeria's most internationally recognised artists.
But Starrgirl is not built entirely around features. The project gives Starr room to continue developing the mix of Afropop, R&B and pop that has increasingly defined her music as her audience has expanded outside Africa.
The release comes at an important stage in her career.
Starr has spent the past few years building a presence across international markets while remaining closely associated with the new generation of Nigerian artists pushing African pop further into mainstream global music.
Just a week before the album arrived, she performed on NBC's show in New York as part of its Citi Concert Series, where she also discussed the forthcoming project.
