Laufey Expands ‘A Very Laufey Day’ to 75 Cities Worldwide
Laufey is turning her annual fan celebration into a much larger global cultural event, with the fourth edition of A Very Laufey Day set for August 23 across more than 75 cities in at least 25 countries.
The 2026 edition is built around the theme “A Celebration of the Arts” and will connect Laufey’s audience with museums, orchestras, ballet companies, theatres, libraries, bookstores, cafés and other cultural spaces around the world.
The event began in 2023 as a way for fans to spend a day following an itinerary inspired by Laufey’s own interests around music, books and local culture. What started as an album-era fan activation has since developed into an annual international programme extending well beyond a traditional music campaign.
This year’s participating institutions include major cultural venues such as New York’s Guggenheim Museum, London’s Tate Modern and National Gallery, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Chile’s Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes and Seoul’s Daelim Museum.
Select locations will also host screenings of Laufey’s concert film A Night at the Symphony: Hollywood Bowl, while Candlelight by Fever will stage special string-quartet performances tied to the event in multiple cities.
Laufey told the Associated Press that one of the goals this year is to make cultural institutions that can sometimes feel intimidating to younger audiences more approachable. Her audience is particularly strong among Gen Z and younger listeners, giving the campaign an unusual connection between contemporary fan culture and traditional arts institutions.
Official merchandise, themed food and drinks and local collaborations will also form part of the August 23 programme, depending on the city. Laufey’s official event site is publishing individual itineraries and participating partners.
