Gaise Baba Releases Third Studio Album ‘God Is Cooking’
Nigerian Afro-gospel artist Gaise Baba has released his third studio album, God Is Cooking, a 13-track project built around faith, spiritual growth and contemporary African gospel music.
Released on August 14, 2026, through 464 Projects / ONErpm, the album runs for about 40 minutes and follows Gaise Baba’s 2022 studio project A Decade After.
God Is Cooking includes collaborations with Greatman Takit, Lawrence Oyor, Nontokozo Mkhize, Cofi Boham and Kaestrings. Among its 13 tracks are “Lenu (Intro),” “Show Workings,” “Oruko,” “No Turning Back II,” “Want to Grow,” “Smile For Joy,” “Fire,” “Light of Africa” and “We Will Go.”
The release follows the success of “No Turning Back II” featuring Lawrence Oyor, which became one of Gaise Baba’s most visible songs and expanded his reach beyond Nigeria’s traditional gospel audience through social media and digital platforms.
Gaise Baba has described the new album as a “13-course meal,” using food and cooking imagery throughout its campaign to represent what he sees as different stages of spiritual development. That language comes directly from the artist’s promotional campaign.
The project moves through themes including identity, commitment, obedience, grief, hope and Christian mission. “Yield,” for example, addresses grief and loss, while “Light of Africa” is centred on faith and purpose across the continent.
The album artwork also carries historical references. Gaise Baba has said the image of Nigerian clergyman and composer J.J. Ransome-Kuti on the cover acknowledges an earlier generation of Nigerian musicians who used African rhythms in Christian music.
