Nollywood actress and filmmaker Uche Montana is attracting millions of viewers with her latest film, Second Chances, strengthening her growing presence in Nigeria’s booming YouTube movie market.
The emotional drama premiered on Uche Montana TV on August 15, 2026, and has already accumulated about 4.9 million views, alongside more than 100,000 likes, according to YouTube trend data tracked this week. The film has also ranked at the top of Nigeria’s Film & Animation trending list.
Second Chances stars Uche Montana, Bimbo Ademoye and Bamike “BamBam” Olawunmi and runs for approximately one hour and 44 minutes.
The film follows three women navigating different circumstances while confronting a shared need for another opportunity at life. Its story explores resilience, forgiveness, rebuilding and the possibility of starting again after difficult experiences.
Beyond the storyline, the film’s early performance highlights the increasing importance of YouTube as a distribution platform for Nollywood filmmakers.
Rather than relying exclusively on cinemas or subscription streaming platforms, a growing group of Nigerian actors and producers are releasing full-length films directly to audiences through their own YouTube channels.
For Montana, Second Chances is particularly significant because the film was released through Uche Montana TV, placing the actress at the centre of both the project and its direct digital distribution.
The release also arrives during a busy period for the actress. Montana appears alongside Maurice Sam and Pamela Okoye in Just Before Forever, another Nollywood drama released on YouTube on August 11 that has also drawn millions of views.
